Athletic Records on the Ranch
On August 28, 2015, a Vandevert resident, Ted H., age 70, became the first to swim Rainbow Lake round trip (approximately 800 yards). His time was 17 minutes, 12 seconds (1st 400 8:01). The day was overcast, smoky, and calm. Water temperature was 72. The swimmer wore a wetsuit but no fins or paddles. The swim and time were attested by Button G.(coach), Joan H., Debbie D., and John D.(boat rower).
On August 19, 2014, a Vandevert resident, Ted H., age 69, became the first to swim the length of Rainbow Lake (approximately 400 yards). His time was seven minutes fifty-two seconds, a "record" that begs to be broken. The day was clear and calm. The water temperature was 70 degrees and the swimmer wore a wetsuit but no fins or paddles. The swim and time were attested by Button G.(coach), Joan H., John D., and Bryan A. (boat rower).
