Little Deschutes River

River For the first half of its travels through the ranch, the Little Deschutes flows through a natural landscape, little changed from the way the Indians knew it. Private ranch horse trails follow the river banks. The lower part of the river, “below the bridge” winds through a gigantic meadow that borders all the houses on the ranch.

Floating the Little Deschutes through the ranch in canoes, kayaks, or inner tubes is a great activity for both adults and children. See a description of the entire ninety-two mile course of the Little Deschutes in the Environment section of the web site.
